Plastic gears have high temperature resistance

Plastic gears are usually made of gear materials: nylon, poly formaldehyde, cloth phenolic, polycarbonate, polysulfone, polyphenylene oxide, polyurethane and so on.
POM (POM) Typical Applications:
POM has a very low coefficient of friction and good geometric stability, especially suitable for the production of gears and bearings. Because it also has high temperature characteristics, it is also used for piping devices (pipe valves, pump housing), lawn equipment. Injection molding process conditions:
Drying: If the material is stored in a dry environment, it is usually not necessary to dry.
Melting temperature: homopolymer material of 190 ~ 230C; copolymer material of 190 ~ 210C.
Mold temperature: 80 ~ 105C. In order to reduce the shrinkage after molding can choose a higher number of mold temperature.
Injection pressure: 700 ~ 1200bar
Injection speed: medium or high injection speed.
Runners and gates:
Any type of gate can be used. If tunnel gates are used, it is advisable to use shorter types. A hot nozzle flow path is recommended for homopolymer materials. An internal hot runner can also be used for the copolymer material or an external hot runner.
Chemical and physical properties:
POM is a tough and resilient material that has good creep resistance, geometric stability and impact resistance even at low temperatures. POM has both homopolymer material and copolymer material. Homopolymer materials have good ductility, fatigue strength, but are not easy to process. The copolymer material has good thermal stability, chemical stability and is easy to process. Both the homopolymer material and the copolymer material are crystalline materials and are less likely to absorb moisture.
The high crystallinity of the POM results in a relatively high shrinkage rate of up to 2% to 3.5%. For different kinds of enhanced materials have different shrinkage.
